Greetings to the members of the Hiring Team:

 

Please consider this letter to be my formal expression of interest in the English Teacher position at Fargo South High School. I am interested in cultivating the futures of young people in the diverse and growing community of Fargo.

 

If hired for this position, I will have completed the Teacher Licensure Option program at North Dakota State University recently (May 2023) with English as my content area and will possess my teaching license in North Dakota. My experience over the years in other areas have given me the chance to grow and work with many people across different walks of life, including opportunities to manage and train others in a collaborative environment. I have worked in sales and retail management experience with companies such as Target, Verizon and GameStop. I have worked in food service at Pioneer Catering in Olathe, KS and as a delivery driver for Jimmy Johns in Fergus Falls, MN. These experiences have been formative for my work ethic and willingness to do difficult and sometimes undesirable aspects of a given career. I have also done extensive youth volunteer work over several years in which I participated in afterschool and mentor programs with students of high school age, and for a time was a youth pastor at a rural church in Erhard, MN.

 

Along with courses focused on the English language and literature, my Education training has included but is not limited to courses that have prepared me in classroom management, methods of teaching my content area and teaching diverse classrooms. I am a highly creative and positive thinker, and I can handle pressure well when the unexpected happens.

 

My extensive experience volunteering with students has prepared me in a unique, relevant, and useful way for the modern classroom. I would be an asset to Fargo South High School because I bring a unique blend of experience and education to education. I would have a positive impact on the learning community as a part of your team and that is why I am interested in working for you.
