Creative Project Reflection

This project took on a number of pieces of revised content, but the most crucial additions were an expansion of the process by which the world changed during years prior to the present day, a greater inclusion of the "Harriett" character so as to build her out as a full-fledged character rather than simply the main character's object of affection, and finally a major revision of the ending of the story which 1) actually follows Godzilla through his confrontation with Mothra and 2) changes this confrontation from being too "monster movie-like" to being contained to a high-stakes verbal back-and-forth inside of a suburban home's kitchen.

I am most proud of this project for the semester. I did excellent work here, in my opinion. At the very least, I feel like I gave it excellent effort. I think, of all of the writing I have done this semester, this is the piece that I can safely let rest as it is.

Regarding the assessment goals that I had set up for myself, I think that I did very good documentation of my planning materials and showed how I used revisions within that, so I give myself a 4 for that category. I know I made a really good outline for this story and brainstormed the beats of the story effectively, plus the changes that were added both expanding and improving the story because of quality implementation of the workshopping feedback, so I am also going to give myself a 4 for this category. In terms of workshopping, I allowed the feedback that I received from my classmates and professor to take hold and make meaningful impact on the final product of my writing in several areas, so I'd give myself a 4 here as well. The area where I feel that I earned only 3 instead of a 4 is in the Final Draft category, but that is because I believe that I forgot to check my spelling properly and may have left some odd grammatic mistakes in the final draft.

Planning: 4

Drafting: 4

Workshopping: 4

Final Draft: 3

Overall: 3.75 of 4
